Switzerland Trip

Wednesday

We waited in long lines at the Orlando airport. When we finally got to our plane we found that we had been seated next to an old lady that stunk really bad. I hurried off the plane to the ticketing agent and luckily got a new seat assignment on the other end of the plane. Whew!

Thursday

Everything went smooth getting to Zurich. Wendy picked us up and we drove to Lauterbrunnen. We took the train up to Wengen and saw the World cup bib draw for the Super combine. The Alps are Amazing! We met some really nice people from Interlocken and talked all about Ski Racing. I am really in my element here.

Friday

Race Day. I got up early and went to the top of the race course. It took over an hour from Lauterbrunnen by train. Train is the only way to get to Wengen and above. I met up with a local guy Walter. He skied with me all along the course. Penelope and Wendy did not ski so we met up after the Downhill and watched the Slalom from a hillside along the course. It was a great day.

Saturday

We woke up to huge snowflakes coming down today. We drove to Luzerne and toured around. On our way we had to stop and put chains on the tires so we could go over the passes

Sunday

Castle Day! We went to Germany today to see the castles.

Monday

Skiing! We went to Flims Laxx Felera skiing. We had the place to ourselves with GREAT SNOW! We also got to see some of the Burton Open snowboard competition. Penelope says it was our best day yet.

Tuesday

Around town today. Visiting Liechtenstein today. We saw the oldest city in Switzerland today. It was very cool.

Wednesday

Travel day. Going home today. World Cup Ski Race, Check. Castles, Check. Ski in the Alps, Check. Eat Fondue and Schnitzel, Check. Visit Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein, Check.
